AdGridWork - The Free Advertising Network

AdGridWork.com At times building traffic and readership to our blog can be a daunting task. By taking traffic exchanges out of the equation since their traffic quality is nearly non-existent, we are left with search engines, social networks, forum participation and perhaps even paid advertising. The question now is where else can we make our blog known? If you are looking for a free platform, then do give AdGridWork a try.

Some of you may have noticed an Adsense-like ad at the bottom of my furthest right-sidebar for the past 3 days. Well this is AdGridWork and I’ve been experimenting with how effective this channel can be to drive targeted traffic. So far the result is quite satisfactory and since its free, I would say its an awesome channel to market our blog with. My ads thus far have been shown 798 times with 2 click-throughs and in-return displayed ads of other bloggers 950 times with 2 conversions as well.

My AdGridWork Stats

The main benefit I would say is the ability to target specific audience which is exactly what we want. This can be done by choosing a specific relevant category and keywords. Our blog ad will then be seen within other participating blogs and we will also be featuring ads in similar category.

The first crucial component to do well is by picking the right category and keywords for reasons stated above and the second would be writing a catchy ad for our blog. The following screenshot will give you a better understanding of how it all works:

At the end of the day, I find that perhaps those technology blogs will benefit more from this since I’ve seen many participating blogs in this category. I do wonder if any ecommerce enabled sites have given AdGridWork a try cause that would be interesting to see especially ebooks or e-applications sellers.

Post You Might Have Missed: Amazon Is Sticking It To Kontera With Context Links Beta

I was just browsing through all my affiliate programs to check on new offers and stats when I found out that Amazon just released their Beta Context Links program. What it is for sure is very similar to Kontera where it links to Amazon products via specific relevant phrases within our blog content. I guess their tagline says it all - ‘You create the content. We’ll link it.’

Their added features are being able to limit the total number of ads to appear and controlling the delivery of the ads. As an example, you can disable the hovering effect of the links by just making them direct links and also choose which Amazon category to apply.

The other important feature is the ability to choose either exact matching of product names or leaving it loose. This will surely benefit those blogs or sites which covers specific product topics such as audio equipments, computer hardware or PS2 gaming blogs among many others.

Setting it up is pretty straight forward by placing their ad script just before the tag in your blog template and you’re ready to go. You can see it working almost immediately at most after 2 refreshes.

Pagerank Update Driving Bloggers Mad

Well no doubt about this quarter’s pagerank update being late and the buzz around bloggers and webmasters can be seen vividly. Although I wouldn’t categorize it as the most important benchmark to a blog success, it is still quite crucial in particularly towards earning potential, especially in regards to selling links and the ability to command a higher price for reviews or paid posts.

Most believe the actual update will be seen sometime this week or early next week although none can be sure. Some even reported a PR change in some of their individual pages recently but none have provided any concrete proof of it being so.

Nevertheless everyone is getting a little restless and myself included but in my case, its more about seeing how I fare through all the hardwork I’ve put in for the past 4 months. If you are a frequent reader of this blog of mine, you’ll understand my passion for trying different things and experimenting.

SMSCash Alpha Is Now Live

SMSCash is yet another new earning channel launched by SlashMySearch recently to give members more opportunities to earn. With this Alpha launch restricted to members only, it truly level the playing field so to speak cause no matter when you join as a member, you can earn a lot more than those early birds such as myself who join the program.

I‘ve read a few bad vibes about the SlashMySearch program recently but if we were to compare it to Agloco whose surf bar have been delayed time and again which promises so much and yet delivering so little thus far, the SMS team on the other hand have been improving their business structure from suggestions by members and have launched several earning channels for members to earn from immediately. The downside to SMSCash is that it is mainly open for members from America, Canada, Great Britain and certain selected European countries which is unfortunate considering the huge number of offers available as can be seen from observing the scroll bars of the screenshots above. Many American SMS members have been praising this new earning channel for it has multiplied their earnings dramatically. For the rest of the Asian and Malaysian members, we wouldn’t be able to participate at all at the time of writing but we can still earn from the earlier channels. I featured James Yeang of Friedbeef as one of the Hottest Male Blogger (in Malaysia) in my personal blog today. You may read the lighter side of things over at my blog at 5xmom.

How to Cheat Google AdSense (and get your AdSense account disabled)

Face it. You come to this article probably thinking to find some ways to cheat Google, or to confirm whether some method you have on mind will work. Well, if you want to know how to cheat AdSense, here are the ways, focusing on the AdSense click-frauds. These covers from basic AdSense cheating techniques to the advanced class.

But before you proceed, you might need to know why you shouldn’t cheat Google (answer: you will get caught).

1. Basic clicker cheat

   This is a noob. This guy knows almost nothing about web technology or network architecture. He clicks on his ads every time he has chance. It can be a few clicks to hundreds of clicks daily. Most likely he doesn’t even read the AdSense Program Policies and Terms and Conditions.

2. Proxy clicker cheat

   She knows a thing or two about cookies and IP address. Or she doesn’t know, but somehow guessed that if she use the things called anonymizer, Google will not be able to trace her, because her identity is hidden. She may use anonymizer / proxy websites or specialized anonymous software like tor (The Onion Router).

3. Multiple computer clicker cheat

   He knows that somehow Google will detect if the clicks are originated from his own computer. So he will try to even out origin of the clicks. He will recruit his friends, family members, relatives, neighbors, his cats, and his dogs on single mission: to click on the ads. He will also click on the AdSense ads when he is using the library computers, or his office workstation.

4. Software clicker cheat

   Graduate to the next step is buyers of clickbots / click-bots. These are specialized robot software to click on AdSense ads. It will browse around your websites, clicking on the ads every few minutes. The more advanced ones will cloak the IP address too, so the website seems to be very popular worldwide. To cover the track, this clickbots will browse around the advertisers sites too while continuing its “click quest”.

5. Paid-clickers cheat

   If you don’t like automated things, there is always other option for you. Just pay $50 dollars a month to the professional AdSense clickers. These are groups of highly specialized Internet surfers with office in the dark rooms in street corners of India, Pakistan, and China, helping AdSense account owner to earn good amounts of money � before the AdSense account is disabled, that is. They will browse around your websites, clicking on the ads every few minutes. Because they use human eyes, they know which ads worth more. And to be more convincing they can click a link or two, or sign up free offers / newsletters on the advertiser sites.

6. Click-rings cheat

   Network is power. So says many business gurus. Instead of taking things to their own hand, this people realize that they can join hands with those with similar goals and distribute AdSense clicks among themselves, the so called AdSense click-rings. Joining this click-ring network means that your website address will be made known to members, who will regularly browse the website and click on your AdSense ads. In exchange, you will also browse other members’ sites and click on their AdSense ads. The medium used varies. Some click-ring groups use mail-list for communications. Some are using bulletin boards/forum, Yahoo groups, or Usenet. IRC is another popular way. Slightly more complicated is specialized AdSense exchange software for collecting members website address and displaying others’ websites for clicking.

7. Other medium cheat

   I have tens of thousands email address on my newsletter subscriber list. If I include AdSense ads on my newsletters, with 5% CTR, I can get a thousand clicks per one email. Not bad. Or I can pay someone to write some useful/nice/funny/cute toolbars or firefox extensions or screensavers that people can download and use for free, and display my AdSense ads there.

8. Visitor cheat

   Simply putting “Visit out sponsors” or “Check out the ads above” on your website is cheating. This might not be very clear-cut cheat to some. But Google AdSense program policies has stated clearly, the only text allowed are “Advertisements” or “Sponsored List”

9. Spam cheat

   This is the highest level all click-frauds, the Maestro of Fraudsters. She spams millions of emails regularly, offering to “satisfy your inner needs if you can help me check on the links on my website”. Of course, email is not the only way. What IRC and instant messaging (IM) are for, after all. She will look for unsuspecting victims, offering something too-good-to-be-true “if only they will visit the website and click on the links”.

10. Click-through-rate cheat

    Whichever method(s) above used, there is one limiting condition: the CTR(click-though-rate). Any CTR that exceeds certain percentage (probably around 10%) will raise red flag in Google AdSense back room. To lower the CTR, the professional cheaters will create some pages on the same domain that attracts very high traffic. Some interesting freebies will sure do the tricks. AdSense code is pasted there, thus creating a very high page impressions. Whether or not the the ads are clicked does not matter anyway, because they are targeting low paying keyword that does not have much competition. The fake clicks are, of course, on where the big money is, the low traffic pages stuffed with high-paying keywords.

Make Money with Paid Surveys

The Cold Hard Truth

The concept of paid surveys has been around for a long time. Some even say that marketing companies began using paid surveys as early as 1856. Only recently however, with the advent of home computers and the increase in home businesses, have paid surveys come back into the "lime-light" as a way to make money.

Most likely you are reading this because you want to know if you can you get paid to take online surveys. The simple answer is "Yes". Marketing companies or firms will pay participants to answer questions via surveys. They then resell the data they collect to larger companies looking to invest in a new marketing plan or ad campaign.

So your next question is most likely, how much can I make, or can I make enough money to live off of? Well, the answer is "No". The simple, cold hard truth is that nobody has ever become rich from completing surveys. In fact, most hard-core survey participants make enough to cover their power bill or a trip to McDonald's once or twice a week at best. Lets face it, if you could get rich taking survey's I would be completing one myself vs. telling you about them. However, legitimate paid surveys are NOT a waste of time and can be a good source of supplemental income.

Let me explain how modern paid surveys work and then you can decide for yourself if participating in paid surveys is right for you.

There are companies and corporations that spend billions of dollars every year in advertising. You see their ads on TV, hear them on the radio and even get them on your cell phones. Obviously, these companies make money by "convincing" you to buy a product through these ads. How do they know what will make money for them and what? Good question, because they don't know. Some companies will try sample ads to a select population and then monitor their results before ramping up to a full scale ad campaign. Other companies will hire a marketing firm before launching an ad campaign in order to get the best information on domestic trends, user habits and interests. Once a company hires a marketing firm, the firm will then collect data from a select populace using web site traffic results, TV ad results and yes...even paid surveys.

By completing a paid survey, you are offering information about yourself: your habits, opinions, likes and dislikes to the marketing firm. That firm will sell your information to another company that will in turn try to sell a product back to you via an ad somewhere.

So, back to the point; Is participating in an online survey worth your time? If you are unemployed and looking for a job, or employed and still have some free time, then participating in paid surveys might be for you. Marketing firms will collect information about you when you sign up and then use that data to match you with current or future survey needs. If you are selected to participate in a survey, you will be notified and given a link via email that will point you to the survey. Four to Six weeks later you will get a check in the mail for your participation.

Surveys are a great way to make an extra $25 to $50 a week in your spare time or after a long day of job hunting. If you are disabled, or a stay at home mom surveys will work well for you too. You can multiply the number of surveys you are selected for by signing up with multiple marketing firms possibly earning $100 to $150 a week. Just be sure to do something productive between each participation letter you get.
